Every day, hundreds of millions of people keep track of what their friends are doing through Facebook's News Feed. In addition to getting updates from friends, more often people are also getting a range of news filtered by their friends as well as from publishers using Facebook tools.

After launching the Like button and other social plugins in April, the Facebook Developer Network team has focused on helping publishers build social experiences and gain viral distribution, increased engagement and referral traffic back to their sites. Justin Osofsky, head of Facebook's media and content partnerships, and Matt Kelly, an engineer who has worked with dozens of outside partners, will speak about how publishers can best create social experiences and how Facebook Platform can be used with news sites.

Speaker bios:
Justin Osofsky is a member of the Facebook Developer Network, where he leads the company’s media and content partnerships. Prior to this role, Justin led platform product marketing for Facebook Connect, worked in Business Development for Facebook, and spent several years as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. Justin holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Matt Kelly works on the Facebook Developer Network team as an engineer, helping developers make the web more social. He has over three years of Facebook Platform experience and has worked closely with more than a hundred partners including Spotify, Yelp, Pandora, BBC, and ESPN.

The $15 entrance fee covers food and drinks. (If you are a student or this expense is a burden, please contact Burt about volunteering options so you can attend -- we don't want to turn people away.)
